Legendary’s New Global TV Initiative with Chris Albrecht Launched in 2019

Burbank, CA – March 3, 2020 – Legendary Global, a television venture between Legendary Entertainment and Chris Albrecht to develop, finance and produce premium international scripted television, announced today that prolific TV producer and executive Anne Thomopoulos has joined the company as a partner. Working alongside Albrecht, Thomopoulos will focus on identifying and acquiring international content under the company’s remit to provide qualifying English language programming that will appeal to local platforms and successfully play to a worldwide audience.

To work together again on this global stage is an opportunity to continue our collaboration across boarders in the pursuit of great content and the growth of Legendary Global,” said Albrecht.

“The combination of working with Legendary to grow their global television strategy and reuniting with Chris Albrecht was an opportunity I couldn’t resist,” stated Thomopoulos.

Legendary Global recently announced the acquisition of Robert Whiting’s book “Tokyo Underworld: The Fast Times and Hard Life of an American Gangster in Japan,” with Emmy® award winner and Academy® award nominee Terence Winter set to write the pilot with Emmy award nominee Sherry Marsh attached as an Executive Producer; and set Jack Thorne to write and executive produce a dynamic and relevant retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic novel “A Tale of Two Cities.”
