Worlds collide when the classic crew of the 1960s Jupiter 2 meet their modern counterparts in a new special mashup story that celebrates all eras of Lost in Space

LOS ANGELES, November 18, 2021 – In celebration of the third and final season of the smash-hit rebirth of the beloved sci-fi classic series on Netflix, Legendary Comics announced today LOST IN SPACE: THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION, a special graphic novel omnibus that brings together six previously released stories featuring the Robinsons, Robot, Doctor Smith and Don West with two all-new, untold adventures in one complete book. The official comic book expansion, featuring stories by Richard Dinnick (Doctor Who) and Brian Buccellato (Batman: Detective comics, The Flash) with stunning art by ZID (GvK: Kingdom Kong), Steve Stanley (Lost in Space: The Lost Adventures), and El Garing (Dracula), will be available to readers in stores and online on December 14. Pre-orders are now available at: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Indie Bound, and ComicShopLocator.com.

Lost in Space: The Ultimate Collection features two all-new stories that allow fans to dive deeper into the backstories of their favorite heroic characters. In “When Worlds Collide Part One,” written by Richard Dinnick with art by Steve Stanley, the Robot works to save the Robinsons from a reptilian creature that invades the camp as the family attempts to build a light tower to contact their colony ship, the Resolute.

In “When Worlds Collide Part Two,” written by Richard Dinnick with art by El Garing, the classic crew of the 1960s television series meet their modern counterparts in a story that celebrates all eras of Lost in Space. This new story features the crew of the Jupiter 2 from Earth in 1997, led by Professor John Robinson, as they encounter their counterparts from another reality who are also lost in space, having been cut off from the Resolute. Just as the two families and two Doctor Smiths are getting acquainted, they encounter a new danger.

“We are thrilled to do something in this volume that can only be done in comics, bring both casts of the Lost in Space television shows together for the first time in a new story that celebrates both eras of the series,” said Robert Napton, Senior Vice President of Legendary Comics. “Fans have been able to follow the Robinsons on even more adventures through the comics, and we can’t wait to share these new stories and possibly even introduce a new generation of readers to the original crew of the Jupiter 2.”

“I love the Legendary Comics versions of Lost in Space,” said Maxwell Jenkins (who portrays Will Robinson in the Netflix television series). “The artwork and the stories are incredible. I’m so excited that comic fans (myself included) will have an opportunity to dive deeper into Lost in Space and the adventures of Will, Robot and the Robinson family. It’s particularly fun to be able to see the original Robinson family paired with our Robinsons in ‘When Worlds Collide Part 2,’ giving fans of both series the chance to get lost in these exciting stories.”

Lost in Space is set thirty years in the future. En route to a distant colony, the Robinson family finds itself thrown off-course when their ship crash-lands on a mysterious and dangerous planet. On this strange new world, they encounter a hostile environment and an enigmatic alien robot. In order to survive, the Robinson family must rely on their training, and they’ll discover that no matter how lost they are, their family is their home. Lost in Space: The Ultimate Collection offers readers the chance to explore new missions, not aired on television, as our heroes struggle to survive in an unknown world full of new creatures, unexpected visitors, and new danger.

The third season of Legendary Television’s “Lost in Space,” set to premiere on Netflix on December 1, 2021, is based on Irwin Allen’s classic 1960’s science fiction series and stars Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Maxwell Jenkins, Taylor Russell, Mina Sundwall, Parker Posey and Ignacio Serricchio. In this modern update, the science fiction show follows the Robinson family as they fight against all odds to survive after crash landing on an alien planet and finding themselves surrounded by hidden dangers.
